OPPORTUNITIES FOR 2008-2009
The dance arts transcend time
and provide enjoyment for all cultures. For this reason, the Denver
Ballet Guild continues this tradition by offering you and your
students dance education programs. The Denver Ballet Guild is a
not-for-profit volunteer organization whose mission is to promote
dance in our community through our dance education programs and
to develop dance audiences in the Denver area. As such, we are
offering 2 educational programs involving professional dance companies
from the Denver metro area. These programs, outlined below, include
a curriculum developed in concert with the Colorado Model
Content Standards, which is available in both English and spanish.
some of the wonderful dance companies that will perform include
Colorado Ballet, Ballet Nouveau Colorado, cleo Parker Robinson
dance, David Taylor Dance Theatre, Kim Robards Dance, Hannah Kahn
Dance, National Ballet of Denver, Ballet Folklorico de Fiesta,
Danza Azteca, and speaking of Dance. Your school may participate
in one or both of these opportunities at no cost to your school.
We are pleased to present the
10th annual Showcase of Dance at Teikyo Loretto Heights Theater,
located at 3001 south Federal Boulevard in Denver. the showcase
of dance includes three days of performances by professional dance
companies. Performances will be held on the following dates:
November 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Two performances will be held
each day, starting promptly at 10am and 11:45 am, with seating
beginning 15 minutes prior to the performance. Each program runs
one hour and will feature three dance companies. Each performance
includes a classical ballet, a contemporary dance and a multi-cultural
presentation. Please note the school will be responsible for transportation
to and from the performance. The Denver Ballet Guild will reimburse
bus transportation at the rate of $105.00 per bus.

The Denver Ballet Guild also
offers an In-School Program, an educational program that includes
a 45 minute performance given by a professional dance company for
an assembly of children. During this performance, students will
interact with the dancers on a more personal level by participating
in question and answer sessions and, in some cases, by actually
performing witht the dancers in your school gym or auditorium!

We have included a registration form for both Showcase of Dance
and In-School Programs with this invitation. Registration forms
are also available for download on our website, www.denverballetguild.org. Programs
are filled on a first come first serve basis, and space is limited,
so please return your school's registration form soon. We look
forward to serving your school with a memorable dance performance.
